Marvel Rivals has quickly become one of the most exciting team-based shooters. With its extensive roster of heroes and villains, players always look for the best characters to dominate matches.
Season 1.5 has brought several balance changes. Some heroes have received buffs, while others have been nerfed. This has shifted the tier list significantly. Choosing the exemplary character is crucial if you want to climb the ranks.
This guide will break down the best and worst characters in Marvel Rivals for March 2025.
Tier List Breakdown
We will divide the heroes into five tiers:
- S-Tier (Best heroes, almost always a great pick)
- A-Tier (Strong heroes with minor weaknesses)
- B-Tier (Balanced heroes, good in the right hands)
- C-Tier (Below-average heroes, harder to play)
- D-Tier (Weak heroes, outclassed by others)
S-Tier (Overpowered Picks)
Doctor Strange
The main supporting character in the game is Doctor Strange. His healing and defending shields are entirely unmatched. In addition, he can teleport, which enables his team to relocate swiftly. He can use the Agamotto’s Eye skill, which helps him open enemies and gives him easier chances to shoot enemies. He is complicated to master, but he becomes more straightforward if a player has any skill in the game.
Iron Man
Dealing damage, Iron Man is second to none. With his Repulsor Beams, which enable him to attack from afar, the damage he deals at range is deplorable. This skill, combined with his mobility, thanks to the Thrusters, makes him extremely hard to kill. Their Ultimate Unibeam can kill multiple enemies simultaneously, forcing players who prefer long-range combat to stoop. Long-range combat players need to look no further than Iron Man.
Loki
Loki is an enemy team’s worst nightmare. Because his opponent is bewildered by his tricks to help cast magic over his jui di, he can focus on other things. This also allows him to get behind enemy lines to easily snipe key targets stealthily. The chaos of Loki’s ultimate ability can unleash forces on the entire battlefield, such as havoc. Such players with excellent control of the game are more than capable of carrying the game single-handedly.
A-Tier (Strong Picks, Slightly Situational)
Spider-Man
Spider-Man is one of the most mobile characters in the game. His Web Swing lets him move quickly, making him hard to hit. His Web Shot can immobilize enemies, setting them up for easy kills. However, he has a lower health pool, so he needs to be played carefully.
Storm
Storm is a compelling character who controls enemy movement on the field. Her Lightning Bolts deal high damage over time. With Wind Gust’s ability, she can launch enemies backward, which creates space in enemy formations. Her ultimate ability, Thunderstorm, can change the course of combat. Although powerful, Storm cannot match the movement speed of other damage-focused heroes.
Black Panther
Black Panther is a solid melee fighter. His Vibranium Claws deal heavy damage up close. His Pounce lets him close the gap between enemies quickly. He is excellent in 1v1 fights but struggles against multiple enemies at once.
Scarlet Witch
Scarlet Witch has strong crowd-control abilities. Her Chaos Magic can disable enemies. Her Reality Warp can teleport her out of danger. She deals heavy damage, but she is fragile. If focused by enemies, she goes down quickly.
B-Tier (Good, But Not the Best)
Wolverine
Wolverine is a tanky brawler with self-healing abilities. His Berserker Rage increases his attack speed, making him deadly in melee combat. However, he struggles against ranged heroes. Without proper team support, he can be kited easily.
Hulk
Hulk is an influential tank, but he is slow. His Smash Attacks deal massive damage in close range. His Rage Mode makes him harder to kill. However, skilled players can dodge his attacks, making him less effective in higher-level matches.
Venom
Venom is a hybrid character with both melee and ranged attacks. His Symbiote Strike allows him to latch onto enemies and deal damage over time. He is strong, but he requires careful positioning. If he overextends, he can be eliminated quickly.
C-Tier (Struggles in Most Situations)
Rocket Raccoon
Rocket Raccoon is a tricky character to play. He has high burst damage but very low health. His Trap Mines can surprise enemies, but he relies heavily on good positioning. If caught out of place, he is an easy target.
Daredevil
Daredevil has fast melee attacks and good agility. His Radar Sense helps him track enemies. However, he struggles against ranged characters. Without cover, he gets taken down quickly.
Gamora
Gamora is another melee fighter with high damage output. She has good mobility, but her abilities don’t provide much utility. Compared to Black Panther or Wolverine, she is outclassed.
D-Tier (Weakest Picks Right Now)
Groot
Groot is supposed to be a tank, but he lacks the defensive abilities of the Hulk. His slow regeneration makes it hard for him to stay alive in fights. Due to his large size, he is easy to hit. He struggles in competitive play.
Hawkeye
Hawkeye is a long-range sniper, but he has trouble in fast-paced fights. His arrows deal good damage, but he lacks mobility. Once enemies close the distance, he becomes an easy target.
The Winter Soldier
The Winter Soldier has strong firearms but lacks versatility. His abilities are not as helpful as Iron Man’s or Loki’s. He feels underwhelming compared to other ranged damage dealers.
